Tulsa Pod

1. Kansas Jayhawks (Big 12 at-large)
23-1 overall; 8-1 conference; 6-1 vs. RPI Top 50; 9-0 vs. RPI 51-100; 6-0 vs. RPI 150+; 11-0 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 115 Loss: 7
RPI: 2
SOS: 15
Last Week: won at Texas Tech 88-66, won at Nebraska 88-66, def. Missouri 103-86
This Week: Iowa State (Sat.), at Kansas State (Mon.)
The Jayhawks move up to the third spot overall, a shift justified by their recent performances. Keep an eye on Josh Selby's status, as he missed both the Nebraska and Missouri wins with a stress reaction in his foot.

16. Long Beach State 49ers (Big West auto)
11-10 overall; 8-2 conference; 0-5 vs. RPI Top 50; 0-1 vs. RPI 51-100; 7-4 vs. RPI 150+; 6-8 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 169 Loss: 122
RPI: 115
SOS: 109
Last Week: Idle
This Week: at UC Davis (Thu.), at Cal State Northridge (Sat.)
The 49ers were off last week, but still own a two-game lead over Cal Poly and Cal State Northridge (who they visit at the Matadome Saturday) in the Big West race.

8. Xavier Musketeers (A-10 auto)
Last Week: 7
Record: 16-6 overall; 8-1 conference; 2-3 vs. RPI Top 50; 4-2 vs. RPI 51-100; 6-1 vs. RPI 150+; 5-5 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 127 Loss: 74
RPI: 24
SOS: 35
Last Week: lost at Charlotte 66-62, def. Saint Louis 76-68
This Week: at Georgia (Tue.), at Duquesne (Sun.)
The Musketeers jumped back into a first place tie with Duquesne at the top of the A-10, and they hold the auto bid this week by virtue of having one more win overall. Xavier can take control of the race by beating the Dukes in Pittsburgh, but they can't overlook Tuesday's key non-conference game, a trip to Georgia.

9. Marquette Golden Eagles (Big East at-large)
Record: 14-9 overall; 5-5 conference; 3-8 vs. RPI Top 50; 1-1 vs. RPI 51-100; 7-0 vs. RPI 150+; 2-7 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 179 Loss: 21
RPI: 64
SOS: 28
Last Week: lost at Villanova 75-70
This Week: at USF (Wed.), at Georgetown (Sun.)
The Golden Eagles again couldn't grab a quality road win, falling at Villanova. They'll get another chance to boost the resume on Sunday in Washington.

5. Louisville Cardinals (Big East at-large)
18-5 overall; 7-3 conference; 5-3 vs. RPI Top 50; 3-2 vs. RPI 51-100; 8-0 vs. RPI 150+; 3-3 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 139 Loss: 37
RPI: 26
SOS: 39
Last Week: def. DePaul 61-57
This Week: at Notre Dame (Wed.), Syracuse (Sat.)
The Cardinals needed a comeback to beat DePaul on Saturday night, but Preston Knowles was out with a hamstring injury. That doesn't bode well for a difficult week ahead.

12A. Memphis Tigers (Conference USA at-large)
New Entrant
Record: 17-6 overall; 5-3 conference; 2-3 vs. RPI Top 50; 4-2 vs. RPI 51-100; 8-1 vs. RPI 150+; 5-4 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 159 Loss: 67
RPI: 45
SOS: 60
Last Week: lost to Tulsa 68-65, won at Gonzaga 62-58
This Week: at UCF (Wed.), Southern Mississippi (Sat.)
Perhaps the Tigers can make C-USA a multi-bid league after their win in Spokane on Saturday, but they'll need to take care of business to make it in, starting this week. Memphis visits collapsing UCF at midweek, then hosts a good Southern Miss team, another contender for the league crown.

12B. Virginia Tech Hokies (ACC at-large)
Last Week: 11
Record: 15-7 overall; 5-4 conference; 1-5 vs. RPI Top 50; 4-0 vs. RPI 51-100; 7-1 vs. RPI 150+; 7-5 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 174 Loss: 63
RPI: 68
SOS: 82
Last Week: won at NC State 77-69, lost at Boston College 58-56
This Week: Georgia Tech (Sun.)
The Hokies dropped a key game for their NCAA hopes when they couldn't escape Boston with a win on Saturday. On Sunday, Virginia Tech will look to avenge a January 25th loss to Georgia Tech, one of the biggest black marks on their resume.

4. Florida Gators (SEC at-large)
Last Week: 7
18-5 overall; 7-2 conference; 6-1 vs. RPI Top 50; 5-1 vs. RPI 51-100; 4-0 vs. RPI 150+; 7-2 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 103 Loss: 91
RPI: 14
SOS: 5
Last Week: def. Vanderbilt 65-61 (OT), def. Kentucky 70-68
This Week: at South Carolina (Wed.), Tennessee (Sat.)
The Gators held serve at home, winning close ones over Vanderbilt and Kentucky. Now, they need to visit Columbia, a place where they've struggled mightily in recent seasons and host the Volunteers, who will have Bruce Pearl back on the sidelines.

13. College of Charleston Cougars (Southern auto)
New Entrant
17-7 overall; 10-2 conference; 1-1 vs. RPI Top 50; 1-3 vs. RPI 51-100; 10-2 vs. RPI 150+; 8-6 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 196 Loss: 105
RPI: 75
SOS: 162
Last Week: def. Wofford 79-54, def. Furman 73-54
This Week: at Elon (Wed.), UNC Greensboro (Sat.)
The Cougars are all now alone at the top of the Southern Conference, as they hammered Wofford and Furman at home, and previous co-leader Chattanooga lost at Davidson on Saturday.

Charlotte Pod #1

6. Texas A&M Aggies (Big 12 auto)
Last Week: 4
16-5 overall; 4-4 conference; 5-3 vs. RPI Top 50; 0-2 vs. RPI 51-100; 7-0 vs. RPI 150+; 4-3 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 147 Loss: 45
RPI: 33
SOS: 43
Last Week: lost to Baylor 76-74 (OT)
This Week: at Colorado (Wed.), at Texas Tech (Sat.)
The Aggies' lost to Baylor on Saturday was their fourth in five games, which sees them slide down the S-curve. This week sees A&M visit Colorado, a team that's already defeated Missouri in Boulder, and rivals Texas Tech, a pair of games that could spell trouble for Mark Turgeon's team.

11. Valparaiso Crusaders (Horizon auto)
New Entrant
Natural 12 seed
15-7 overall; 9-3 conference; 2-4 vs. RPI Top 50; 2-0 vs. RPI 51-100; 9-2 vs. RPI 150+; 9-5 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 155 Loss: 106
RPI: 54
SOS: 93
Last Week: lost at Cleveland State 76-65, won at Youngstown State 86-78
ThisWeek: Detroit (Thu.), Wright State (Sat.)
Cleveland State's loss (or two more accurately) is Valpo's gain, as the Crusaders jump into the bracket to replace the Vikings this week. Valparaiso sits one-game up in the loss column on both Cleveland State and Wright State.

3. Georgetown Hoyas (Big East at-large)
Last Week: 4
18-5 overall; 7-4 conference; 7-5 vs. RPI Top 50; 3-0 vs. RPI 51-100; 5-0 vs. RPI 150+; 9-3 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 99 Loss: 17
RPI: 5
SOS: 2
Last Week: def. Providence 83-81
This Week: at Syracuse (Wed.), Marquette (Sun.)
The Hoyas nearly gave Saturday's game against Providence away, which doesn't bode well for a difficult week, which begins with a road trip to resurgent Syracuse and ends with a visit from a Marquette team that's in need of a big road win.

14. Bucknell Bison (Patriot auto)
16-8 overall; 7-1 conference; 0-2 vs. RPI Top 50; 1-3 vs. RPI 51-100; 14-2 vs. RPI 150+; 8-7 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 223 Loss: 114
RPI: 96
SOS: 195
Last Week: def. Navy 75-49
This Week: American (Wed.), at Holy Cross (Sat.)
The Bison lead American, who they host on Wednesday and defeated earlier in the season, by a game in the Patriot League,

Charlotte Pod #2

7. Minnesota Golden Gophers (Big Ten at-large)
Last Week: 5
16-7 overall; 5-6 conference; 3-5 vs. RPI Top 50; 2-0 vs. RPI 51-100; 9-1 vs. RPI 150+; 5-5 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 145 Loss: 55
RPI: 27
SOS: 24
Last Week: lost at Indiana 60-57, lost to Ohio State 82-69
This Week: Illinois (Thu.), at Iowa (Sun.)
The Gophers have lost three games in a row, with the defeat at Indiana being particularly painful. However, Minnesota will have plenty of opportunities to improve/damage its position, as they don't have to face a lock (Ohio State, Purdue, or Wisconsin) the rest of the way.

10. George Mason Patriots (CAA auto)
New Entrant

Record: 19-5 overall; 11-2 conference; 1-1 vs. RPI Top 50; 6-2 vs. RPI 51-100; 9-0 vs. RPI 150+; 7-5 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 146 Loss: 83
RPI: 23
SOS: 70
Last Week: def. Hofstra 87-68, def. Old Dominion 62-45
This Week: at UNC Wilmington (Wed.), James Madison (Sat.)
The Patriots now join VCU at the top of the CAA, and they own a profile that's actually better than the one that earned them an at-large bid in 2006. GMU's next challenge is to not slip up, particularly on the road at an improved UNC Wilmington team on Wednesday.

2. Duke Blue Devils (ACC auto)
Last Week: 3
21-2 overall; 8-1 conference; 5-1 vs. RPI Top 50; 6-1 vs. RPI 51-100; 6-0 vs. RPI 150+; 8-2 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 127 Loss: 41
RPI: 8
SOS: 58
Last Week: won at Maryland 80-62, def. NC State 76-52
This Week: North Carolina (Wed.), at Miami (Sun.)
The Blue Devils rebounded from a bad loss to St. John's with two impressive ACC wins. On Wednesday, Duke hosts North Carolina in (again) a game that pits the two best teams in the conference--a contest that will ultimately have a lot to say about the Blue Devils' hopes for a top seed.

15. Vermont Catamounts (America East auto)
New Entrant
19-5 overall; 10-2 conference; 0-2 vs. RPI Top 50; 0-0 vs. RPI 51-100; 18-2 vs. RPI 150+; 8-4 Road/Neutral
Average RPI win: 240 Loss: 89
RPI: 79
SOS: 215
Last Week: won at Hartford 61-47, def. Stony Brook 65-42
This Week: at UMBC (Wed.), Binghamton (Sun.)
The Catamounts are the winners of seven straight and have moved a game ahead of Maine, who lost at UMBC on Sunday. The Black Bears host UVM on Wednesday, February 16th.
