10-Year Mayhem Potential
Data from Bob Vetrone Jr. on Twitter.
Over the past 10 seasons, one of the Big South’s top two seeds has won the automatic bid just four times. The No. 1 seed last won in 2017.
- 1 seed (2): 2012, 2017
- 2 seed (2): 2014 (1 South), 2018
- 3 seed (3): 2010, 2011, 2015
- 4 seed (2): 2016, 2019
- 9 seed (1): 2013 (5 North)
10-Year NCAA Seeding Record
Years with an NCAA win are in bold.
- 13 seed (1); 2017
- 15 seed (1): 2016
- 16 seed (8): 2010 (Opening Round), 2011 (First Four), 2012, 2013 (First Four), 2014, 2015, 2018 (First Four), 2019
Radford and Winthrop could end up on seed line No. 15 this season, but it’s more than likely the Big South champ will earn its ninth 16 seed in 11 seasons.
