10-Year Mayhem Potential

Data from Bob Vetrone Jr. on Twitter.

Over the past 10 seasons, one of the Patriot’s top two seeds has won the automatic bid eight times. The No. 1 has won six of those, including the last three. That’s the advantage of playing on your home floor.

  • 1 seed (6): 2010, 2011, 2013, 2017, 2018, 2019
  • 2 seed (2): 2012, 2014
  • 4 seed (1): 2015
  • 9 seed (1): 2016

10-Year NCAA Seeding Record

Years with an NCAA win are in bold.

  • 15 seed (3): 2012, 2014, 2019
  • 16 seed (3): 2010, 2015, 2016 (First Four)
  • 14 seed (2): 2011, 2018
  • 11 seed (1): 2013
  • 13 seed (1); 2017

Bucknell has earned the Patriot League’s two highest seeds in the past 10 years. Otherwise, the league’s rep is likely to wind up on line 14, 15, or 16. If Colgate wins, a 14 or 15 is probably in the cards this March.
