Quad 1 For Both Teams (1/1: 2 Games)
Top 30 at Top 75
22. Seton Hall Pirates (10-4, 2-0 Big East) at 38. Xavier Musketeers (12-3, 1-1), 8:30 p.m. (FS1)
21. Arkansas Razorbacks (12-1, 1-0 SEC) at 28. LSU Tigers (9-4, 1-0), 9 p.m. (ESPNU)
In the nightcap of FS1’s Big East doubleheader, Seton Hall can join the surprising Providence Friars at 3-0 in conference play, if it can record a second consecutive win at Cintas Center. Note that the Musketeers are riding a 13-game home win streak. Meanwhile, the SEC’s game of the night sees Arkansas and LSU battling to see who can join the Kentucky Wildcats and Florida Gators (and likely the Auburn Tigers too) in the early lead pack. Surprisingly, the Razorbacks have won two of their last three games in Baton Rouge, including a 90-89 thriller back on February 2, 2019.
Quad 2 For Host/Quad 1 For Visitor (2/1: 2 Games)
31–75 at Top 75
57. St. John’s Red Storm (11-4, 0-2 Big East) at 58. Georgetown Hoyas (10-5, 0-2), 6:30 p.m. (FS1)
73. Mississippi State Bulldogs (9-4, 0-1 SEC) at 60. Alabama Crimson Tide (7-6, 0-1), 7 p.m. (SECN)
48. Oklahoma Sooners (10-3, 1-0 Big 12) at 67. Texas Longhorns (10-3, 0-1), 9 p.m. (ESPN2)
37. Illinois Fighting Illini (10-5, 2-2 Big Ten) at 26. Wisconsin Badgers (9-5, 2-1), 9 p.m. (BTN)
Several NCAA Tournament contenders could find themselves in an early hole in conference play with losses tonight, with the early contests in the Big East and SEC the most crucial. The Big 12 showdown between Oklahoma and Texas always seems to be a bubble battle, and the Longhorns will look to remain perfect at home against the Sooners under Shaka Smart as they aim to rebound from Saturday’s loss at Baylor Bears. In the Big Ten’s late game, Illinois can get its tournament hopes back on track by winning in Madison, though Wisconsin seems to be rounding into form at a good time, having won four straight.
Quad 1 For Host/Quad 2 For Visitor (1/2: 3 Games)
Top 30 at 76–135
18. Florida State Seminoles (13-2, 3-1 ACC) at 90. Wake Forest Demon Deacons (8-5, 1-2), 7:30 p.m. (ACC RSNs/ACCNX)
1. Kansas Jayhawks (11-2, 1-0 Big 12) at 84. Iowa State Cyclones (7-6, 0-1), 8 p.m. (ESPN+ ($))
2. Duke Blue Devils (13-1, 4-0 ACC) at 92. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (7-7, 2-2), 9 p.m. (ACCN)
While Duke aims to remain the lone ACC unbeaten by winning in Atlanta, Florida State travels to Winston-Salem with the aim of remaining in what’s currently a four-team chase pack—a group that’s in place because of the Boston College Eagles’ upset win over the Virginia Cavaliers on Tuesday night. Kansas, meanwhile, will look to join Baylor and TCU Horned Frogs (and perhaps Oklahoma) at 2-0 in Big 12 play, but Iowa State historically gives the Jayhawks trouble, particularly in Ames.
Quad 2 For Both Teams (2/2: 1 Game)
31–75 at 76–135
68. ETSU Buccaneers (13-3, 2-1 SoCon) at 87. UNCG Spartans (12-4, 2-1), 7 p.m. (ESPN+ ($))
It’s an important night in the SoCon race, particularly for these two clubs, as the loser of tonight’s game at Greensboro Coliseum could find itself two games out of first depending on the night’s other results. The Spartans are 5-2 against the Bucs over the last three seasons.
Quad 3 For Host/Quad 1 For Visitor (3/1: 3 Games)
76–160 at Top 75
78. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (10-4, 1-2 ACC) at 46. NC State Wolfpack (10-4, 1-2), 7 p.m. (ESPN2)
107. UCF Knights (9-5, 0-2 AAC) at 66. SMU Mustangs (11-2, 1-0), 8 p.m. (ESPN3)
127. Vanderbilt Commodores (8-5, 0-0 SEC) at 6. Auburn Tigers (13-0, 1-0), 9 p.m. (SECN)
While SMU and NC State can both pick up important home wins for their at-large hopes, Auburn would like to keep its status as one of the nation’s two undefeated teams.
Quad 3 For Host/Quad 2 For Visitor (3/2: 5 Games)
76–160 at 76–135
104. Tulsa Golden Hurricane (9-5, 1-0 AAC) at 85. Cincinnati Bearcats (8-6, 1-1), 7 p.m. (ESPNU)
79. Pittsburgh Panthers (10-4, 1-2 ACC) at 103. North Carolina Tar Heels (8-6, -12), 7 p.m. (ACCN)
99. Davidson Wildcats (6-7, 0-1 A 10) at 86. Rhode Island Rams (8-5, 0-1), 7 p.m. (CBSSN)
145. Stony Brook Seawolves (10-6, 1-0 AE) at 95. Vermont Catamounts (10-5, 0-0), 7 p.m. (ESPN+ ($))
109. Tulane Green Wave (9-5, 1-1 AAC) at 100. UConn Huskies (9-5, 0-2), 9 p.m. (CBSSN)
Mixed in with the quartet of matchups featuring teams with rather fanciful at-large hopes at this point is the early game of the year in the America East. While Stony Brook holds the conference’s auto bid in Tuesday’s bracket projection, that’s only because Vermont, the league’s top team in the NET, only tips off its AmEast slate tonight. The Catamounts haven’t lost to the Seawolves since going 1-2 against them in Stony Brook’s 2015-16 NCAA Tournament season.
Quad 2 For Host/Quad 3 For Visitor (2/3: 2 Games)
31–75 at 136–240
62. Duquesne Dukes (12-2, 2-0 A 10) at 226. Saint Joseph’s Hawks (3-11, 0-2), 7 p.m. (ESPN+ ($))
74. Furman Paladins (13-2, 3-0 SoCon) at 176. Chattanooga Mocs (10-5, 1-1), 7 p.m. (ESPN+ ($))
With the A 10’s other three 2-0 teams idle at midweek, Duquesne can put itself a half-game up on them heading into the weekend by winning at Hagan Arena. Furman, meanwhile, can put itself in great early position in the SoCon race by taking down Chattanooga.
Quad 1 For Host/Quad 4 For Visitor (1/4: 1 Game)
Top 30 at 241–353
3. San Diego State Aztecs (15-0, 4-0 MW) at 285. Wyoming Cowboys (5-11, 0-4), 9 p.m. (MWN)
Like Auburn, SDSU plays what should be an overmatched opponent as it attempts to remains undefeated. While a trip to the altitude of Laramie is usually cause for concern, Wyoming is only 3-6 in home games against D1 opponents this season.
Quad 4 For Host/Quad 1 For Visitor (4/1: 3 Games)
161–353 at Top 75
161. Northwestern Wildcats (5-8, 0-3 Big Ten) at 44. Indiana Hoosiers (11-3, 1-2), 7 p.m. (BTN)
318. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders (5-10, 1-3 Southland) at 43. Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks (13-2, 4-0), 7:30 p.m. (ESPN3)
256. George Washington Colonials (6-8, 0-1 A 10) at 69. Saint Louis Billikens (12-3, 1-1), 8 p.m.(FS Midwest/ESPN+ ($))
Southland leader SFA aims to win its seventh straight overall and its ninth in a row at home, while Indiana and Saint Louis look to avoid bad home losses that could damage their at-large hopes.
Quad 3 For Host/Quad 4 For Visitor (3/4: Games)
76–160 at 241–353
83. Nevada Wolf Pack (10-5, 3-0 MW) at 255. San José State Spartans (5-11, 1-3), 10 p.m. (MWN)
Nevada travels to the Bay Area aiming to keep pace with San Diego State in the Mountain West race. Note that the pair meet twice with the first meeting set for January 18th at Viejas Arena.
