Quad 1 For Both Teams (1/1: 3 Games)
Top 30 at Top 75
14. Villanova Wildcats (16-3, 6-1 Big East) at 67. St. John’s Red Storm (13-8, 2-6), 6:30 p.m. (FS1)
15. Florida State Seminoles (17-2, 7-1 ACC) at 58. Virginia Cavaliers (13-6, 5-4), 7 p.m. (ESPN)
9. Butler Bulldogs (16-4, 4-3 Big East) at 52. Georgetown Hoyas (12-8, 2-5), 9 p.m. (CBSSN)
In the Big East, both St. John’s and Georgetown could certainly use Top 15 home wins for their flagging at-large hopes. Villanova, meanwhile, would like to extend its win streak to six, particularly with a tricky Creighton-Butler-Seton Hall swing coming up starting on Saturday. As for Butler, the Bulldogs would like to win their second straight before beginning a two-game homestand on Saturday.
Virginia plays the first of three home games against the ACC’s runaway lead pack tonight and a win over Florida State would be a huge boost for the Cavaliers heading into their bye weekend.
Quad 2 For Host/Quad 1 For Visitor (2/1: 4 Games)
31–75 at Top 75
48. Mississippi State Bulldogs (12-7, 3-3 SEC) at 37. Florida Gators (12-7, 4-2), 7 p.m. (ESPN2)
59. SMU Mustangs (15-4, 5-2 AAC) at 57. Cincinnati Bearcats (12-7, 5-2), 7 p.m. (ESPN News)
54. Richmond Spiders (15-5, 5-2 A 10) at 39. VCU Rams (15-5, 5-2), 7 p.m. (CBSSN)
36. Purdue Boilermakers (11-9, 4-5 Big Ten) at 23. Rutgers Scarlet Knights (15-5, 6-3), 8 p.m. (BTN)
All of sudden, Mississippi State is back on the bubble thanks to three straight SEC wins, and today’s trip to Gainesville is vital for the NCAA hopes of both the Bulldogs and host Gators, who were thrashed by No. 1 Baylor on Saturday. Note that Miss. State has yet to win a conference road game.
With both SMU and Cincinnati now on the bubble, it’s unfortunate that the two only meet once in American play this year. This game begins a crucial three-game stretch for the Bearcats, who next host Houston and visit Wichita State. SMU, on the other hand, takes on Tulane and Temple in their next two.
On Saturday, Richmond couldn’t get a Quad 1 win by beating Dayton Flyers at the Robins Center. Tonight, the Spiders get another shot when they visit archrival VCU. Last season, the Rams swept the crosstown series, but the Spiders did the same in 2018.
Also on Saturday, Rutgers needed a buzzer beater to top Nebraska and keep its perfect home record intact. Purdue will pose another stiff challenge tonight, even if the Boilermakers are still winless on the road in Big Ten play.
Quad 1 For Host/Quad 2 For Visitor (1/2: 1 Game)
Top 30 at 76–135
20. Auburn Tigers (17-2, 4-2 SEC) at 107. Ole Miss Rebels (10-9, 1-5), 9 p.m. (ESPNU)
Auburn, who looked a bit shaky in beating Iowa State at home on Saturday, heads to Oxford to take on an Ole Miss team that finally won its first SEC game of the season on Saturday.
Quad 2 For Both Teams (2/2: 2 Games)
31–75 at 76–135
64. Syracuse Orange (13-7, 6-3 ACC) at 81. Clemson Tigers (10-9, 4-5), 7 p.m. (ACC RSNs/ACCNX)
50. Virginia Tech Hokies (14-6, 5-4 ACC) at 106. Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes (10-9, 2-7), 7:30 p.m. (ACCN)
Syracuse can win its sixth in a row tonight, but the Orange can’t get caught looking ahead to Saturday’s visit from Duke. Clemson has dropped two of three since defeating Duke on January 14th to knock itself out of the bubble picture. Virginia Tech is barely hanging on in today’s bracket projection following Saturday’s loss at Boston College. A loss to Miami, currently rooted to the bottom of the ACC standings, would likely knock them out in time for Friday’s bubble update.
Quad 3 For Host/Quad 1 For Visitor (3/1: 2 Games)
76–160 at Top 75
149. Texas A&M Aggies (9-9, 3-3 SEC) at 55. Tennessee Volunteers (12-7, 4-2), 6:30 p.m. (SECN)
76. Pittsburgh Panthers (13-7, 4-5 ACC) at 6. Duke Blue Devils (16-3, 6-2), 9 p.m. (ESPN)
Tennessee fought hard in losing by six at Kansas on Saturday, but tonight the Vols need to pick up a fifth win in six tries against a lower-tier SEC team before a difficult Miss-State-Alabama road swing starts on Saturday. In the ACC, Duke snapped a two-game skid by torching Miami by 30 one week ago. The Blue Devils will look to do the same to a Pitt team that has only defeated North Carolina and Robert Morris on the road.
Quad 2 For Host/Quad 3 For Visitor (2/3: 2 Games)
31–75 at 136–240
35. Michigan Wolverines (11-8, 2-6 Big Ten) at 158. Nebraska Cornhuskers (7-13, 2-7), 7 p.m. (ESPNU)
47. Rhode Island Rams (14-5, 6-1 A 10) at 168. George Mason Patriots (13-7, 2-5), 7 p.m. (Stadium/MASN)
With a win tonight in Lincoln, Nebraska will pass Michigan in the Big Ten standings. The Wolverines will be up against it against the Huskers, as their point guard, Zavier Simpson, has been suspended for the game. Rhode Island entered today’s bracket, but the current second place team in the Atlantic 10 will be back on the wrong side of the bubble if it picks up a road loss in Fairfax tonight.
Quad 3 For Host/Quad 2 For Visitor (3/2: 1 Game)
76–160 at 76–135
86. Georgia Bulldogs (11-8, 1-5 SEC) at 87. Missouri Tigers (9-10, 1-5), 8:30 p.m. (SECN)
At this point, these two teams are playing to avoid playing on Wednesday in the SEC Tournament.
Quad 4 For Host/Quad 1 For Visitor (4/1: 1 Game)
161–353 at Top 75
163. Buffalo Bulls (13-7, 4-3 MAC) at 65. Akron Zips (16-4, 6-1), 7 p.m. (ESPN+ ($))
The two-time defending MAC champs visit the team that looks most likely to take their crown.
Quad 2 For Host/Quad 4 For Visitor (2/4: 1 Game)
31–75 at 241–353
62. Utah State Aggies (16-6, 5-4 MWC) at 299. Wyoming Cowboys (5-16, 0-9), 11 p.m. (ESPNU)
Utah State will look to win its third straight Mountain West game while keeping host Wyoming winless in conference play.
