Gulf Coast Showcase Finals

FloHoops.com ($) will stream all four games.

7th/8th Place: Northeastern Huskies (3-4, CAA) vs. Weber State Wildcats (1-4, Big Sky), 11 a.m.
5th/6th Place: Drake Bulldogs (5-2, MVC) vs. Murray State Racers (4-2, OVC), approx. 1:30 p.m.
3rd/4th Place: Miami (Ohio) RedHawks (4-2, MAC) vs. Wright State Raiders (5-2, Horizon), 5 p.m.
Championship: South Alabama Jaguars (5-2, Sun Belt) vs. La Salle Explorers (3-2, A 10), approx. 7:30 p.m.

(Bracket)

Either South Alabama or La Salle will claim its first-ever Gulf Coast Showcase title this evening in Estero, Fla,, while the third-place game is a rematch of a regularly-scheduled game from the season’s first week. Wright State won at Miami, 88-81, back on November 9th. In the afternoon session, a pair of 2019 NCAA qualifiers—Northeastern and Murray State—will look to leave Southwest Florida with last day wins after disappointing trips.

Cayman Islands Classic Finals

FloHoops.com ($) will stream all four games.

7th/8th Place: Loyola Chicago Ramblers (3-4, MVC) vs. Old Dominion Monarchs (3-4, C-USA), 11 a.m.
5th/6th Place: Colorado State Rams (4-3, MW) vs. Washington State Cougars (3-3, Pac-12), approx. 1:30 p.m.
3rd/4th Place: South Florida Bulls (4-2, American) vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers (3-3, Big Ten), 5 p.m.
Championship: New Mexico State Aggies (4-3, WAC) vs. George Mason Patriots (7-1, A 10) , approx. 7:30 p.m.

(Bracket)

The third-annual Cayman Islands Classic will close with a pair of quality mid-majors playing for the title and two typically bad power-conference teams squaring off for third. However, the most interesting game may be the battle to avoid the 0-for-Caymans trip this morning, as it features Conference USA’s 2019 champ, ODU, and 2017 Final Four qualifier Loyola.

Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis Quarterfinals

Michigan Wolverines (4-0, Big Ten) vs. Iowa State Cyclones (3-1, Big 12), 12 p.m. (ESPN)
North Carolina Tar Heels (4-0, ACC) vs. Alabama Crimson Tide (2-2, SEC), approx. 2:30 p.m. (ESPN)
Gonzaga Bulldogs (6-0, WCC) vs. Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles (2-3, C-USA), 7 p.m. (ESPNU)
Seton Hall Pirates (4-1, Big East) vs. Oregon Ducks (5-0, Pac-12), approx. 9:30 p.m. (ESPN2)

(JPG Bracket)

On paper, the two bookend matchups are the most interesting, but “on paper” is basically a meaningless phrase on the morning after Duke lost its first non-conference home game of the millennium to Stephen F. Austin. (Thanks for nothing, ACC Network carriage issues.) It’s definitely a good thing that the Maui final is scheduled for early evening Eastern time, so the Seton Hall-Oregon game should get the attention a Sweet Sixteen-type matchup deserves.

Cancún Challenge Finals

Mayan (Visitor) Division

FloHoops.com ($) will stream both games.

Consolation: UT Martin Skyhawks (2-4, OVC) vs. Boston University Terriers (3-4, Patriot), 12:30 p.m.
Championship: Gardner-Webb Bulldogs (1-5, Big South) vs. Northern Colorado Bears (3-3, Big Sky), approx. 3 p.m.

Gardner-Webb picked up its first win of the season at the right time, earning a championship game tilt against a Northern Colorado team that blew out Boston U by 23.

Riviera (Host) Division

CBSSN will air both games.

Consolation: South Carolina Gamecocks (4-2, SEC) vs. Northern Iowa Panthers (6-1, MVC), 6 p.m.
Championship: Wichita State Shockers (6-0, American) vs. West Virginia Mountaineers (5-0, Big 12), approx. 8:30 p.m.

(PDF Bracket)

In Tuesday night’s semifinals, South Carolina was no match for Wichita State, as the Shockers won going away, 70-47. In the nightcap, West Virginia held off Northern Iowa, 60-55.

Wichita State won this event back in 2012, while West Virginia fell in the 2013 final to Wisconsin.

Maui Jim Maui Invitational Finals

5th/6th Place: Michigan State Spartans (4-2, Big Ten) vs. UCLA Bruins (5-2, Pac-12), 2:30 p.m. (ESPN2)
Championship: Dayton Flyers (5-0, A 10) vs. Kansas Jayhawks (5-1, Big 12), approx. 5 p.m. (ESPN)
7th/8th Place: Georgia Bulldogs (4-2, SEC) vs. Chaminade Silverswords (2-2, DII, PacWest, host), 9 p.m. (ESPNU)
3rd/4th Place: Virginia Tech Hokies (6-1, ACC) vs. BYU Cougars (4-3, WCC), approx. 11:30 p.m. (ESPN2)

(PDF Bracket)

For the second season in a row, the Maui Jim Maui Invitational’s championship game will tip at 5 p.m. Eastern, as a lead-in to ESPN’s NBA Wednesday doubleheader. But hey, the timing is great for Friendsgiving happy hour in a good chunk of the country! Both Dayton and Kansas made their way to today’s matchup relatively easily, with the Flyers crushing Virginia Tech by 27, with Obi Toppin scoring 24—highlighted by several spectacular dunks—while the Jayhawks disposed of BYU by a 71-56 score.

Dave Pasch and Bill Walton will call the evening doubleheader, if you’re interested (or if you want to hit the mute button).

Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis Mainland Day 2

UT Arlington Mavericks (3-3, Sun Belt) vs. Furman Paladins (6-1, SoCon), 3 p.m. (no TV)

Furman blasted the host Elon Phoenix (2-5, CAA) 97-61 and can claim the subregional title with a win over UTA this afternoon.

NIT Season Tip-Off Semifinals

ESPN2 will air both games.

Ole Miss Rebels (4-1, SEC) vs. Penn State Nittany Lions (5-0, Big Ten), 5 p.m.
Oklahoma State Cowboys (5-0, Big 12) vs. Syracuse Orange (4-1, ACC), approx. 7:30 p.m.

(PDF Bracket)

With the two losses suffered by these four teams coming at the hands of Memphis and Virginia, a sneakily-interesting pair of semifinals is on tap for Brooklyn tonight. While you might be tempted to consider Syracuse a heavy favorite, keep in mind the Orange don’t play as well historically at Barclays Center as they do at MSG. Cuse is 1-3 in their last four games there.

Rocket Mortgage by Quicken Loans Fort Myers Tip-Off Finals

FS1 will air both games.

Consolation: Kansas State Wildcats (4-1, Big 12) vs. Bradley Braves (4-2, MVC), 6 p.m.
Championship: Pittsburgh Panthers (5-2, ACC) vs. Northwestern Wildcats (3-2, Big Ten), approx. 8:30 p.m.

Former Duke teammates and assistants Jeff Capel III and Chris Collins will see their teams meet on the court for the first time in tonight’s final in Fort Myers. The pair’s clubs reached the final in contrasting manners, as Pitt held off K-State, 63-59, in Monday night’s first semifinal, while Northwestern had no trouble with Bradley in a 78-51 victory.

Rocket Mortgage by Quicken Loans Fort Myers Tip-Off Subregional Day 2

Norfolk State Spartans (3-4, MEAC) at Monmouth Hawks (3-5, MAAC), 7 p.m. (ESPN+ ($))

Norfolk State dropped its opener to Division II Caldwell on Tuesday night, 64-54, while Monmouth cruised past the Radford Highlanders (2-4, Big South), 80-63.

Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic Showcase

Oregon State Beavers (5-1, Pac-12) vs. San Jose Staté Spartans (3-3, MW), 11 p.m. (FS1)

Just last year, this event was a bracketed event scheduled for the weekend before Christmas. However, with the explosion of exempt events, Fox Sports clearly had issues in filling the field. So, it’s now a five-team event with a showcase game at the Orleans Arena that serves as an appetizer for the Las Vegas Invitational that tips off tomorrow.

Oregon State is 2-0 in its on-campus games so far, with a game against the Portland State Vikings set for Sunday. San José State, meanwhile, is 2-1, with a loss to the Vikings and win over non-D1 Simpson (Calif.) accounted for in that mark.
