At the bottom of the page, you’ll find a lineup broken down by telecast window with the group designations in bold to the left of the game. Instead of ordering these by tip time, however, I’ve grouped them by importance.
Reminders of the different groupings:
- Group 1 (home games): Visitor is ranked 1-30
- Group 1 (away games): Host is ranked 1-75
- Group 2 (home games): Visitor is ranked 31-75
- Group 2 (away games): Host is ranked 76-135
- Group 3 (home games): Visitor is ranked 76-160
- Group 3 (away games): Host is ranked 136-240
- Group 4 (home games): Visitor is ranked 161-353
- Group 4 (away games): Host is ranked 241-353
All NET numbers are from the NCAA’s website and reflect games played through Wednesday, January 30. Records reflect games played through Wednesday, January 30. All times are Eastern.
31-75 at Top 75
Group 1 for the visitor only; Group 2 for the host
No. 58 Temple Owls (15-5, 5-2) at No. 8 Houston Cougars (20-1, 7-1), 7 p.m. (ESPN2)
No. 66 Arizona Wildcats (14-7, 5-3) at No. 61 Arizona State Sun Devils (14-6, 5-3), 9 p.m. (ESPN2)
The game of the night looks to be set for the Fertitta Center in Houston, where the Cougars will look to avenge their lone loss of the season—a controversial 73-69 defeat at Temple. The Owls, who have gone 1-2 in their last three, all at home, sandwiched a win over Memphis between losses to Penn and Cincinnati. At the moment, their at-large case centers on their win over UH. A second wouldn’t hurt.
In the Pac-12, a pair of bubble teams meet in Tempe, where the Sun Devils will look to claim their first win over the Wildcats in Bobby Hurley’s tenure. And with Arizona’s offensive struggles, ASU might not have a better chance at making that happen.
Top 30 at 76-135
Group 1 for the host only; Group 2 for the visitor
No. 11 Purdue Boilermakers (14-6, 7-2) at No. 84 Penn State Nittany Lions (7-13, 0-9), 7 p.m. (FS1)
No. 2 Gonzaga Bulldogs (19-2, 6-0) at No. 102 BYU Cougars (13-9, 5-2), 11 p.m. (ESPN2)
Purdue, which is playing like the Big Ten’s best team right now, travels to Penn State, which is undoubtedly the worst. Meanwhile, the WCC game in this category offers a little more intrigue. BYU, who damaged Saint Mary’s bubble position a week ago in Provo, will look to hand Gonzaga its first league loss of the season.
31-75 at 76-135
Group 2 for both the host and the visitor
No. 49 Murray State Racers (16-3, 7-1) at No. 134 Jacksonville State Gamecocks (15-6, 7-1), 8 p.m. (ESPN+)
No. 64 Oregon Ducks (12-8, 3-4) at No. 85 Utah Utes (11-8, 5-2), 9 p.m. (FS1)
If you aren’t an ESPN+ subscriber, you might want to at least sign up for the 7-day trial to check out the only regular-season meeting of the OVC’s co-leaders. (This is definitely recommended if you haven’t watched Ja Morant play yet.) The Pac-12 matchup, featuring a pair of fringe bubble teams, is a bit less intriguing in my opinion.
76-160 at Top 75
Group 1 for the visitor only; Group 3 for the host
No. 76 UConn Huskies (12-8, 3-4) at No. 42 UCF Knights (15-4, 5-2), 9 p.m. (ESPNU)
UCF will aim to rebound from Sunday’s bad road loss to Memphis by sweeping the Huskies. The Knights handled UConn with ease on January 5th, 65-53.
76-160 at 76-135
Group 2 for the visitor only; Group 3 for the host
No. 99 North Texas Mean Green (18-3, 6-2) at No. 100 Old Dominion Monarchs (16-6, 6-3), 7 p.m. (Stadium)
No. 86 Xavier Musketeers (11-10, 3-5) at No. 87 Georgetown Hoyas (13-7, 3-4), 8 p.m. (CBSSN)
No. 81 Oregon State Beavers (12-7, 4-3) at No. 106 Colorado Buffaloes (11-8, 2-5), 9 p.m. (Pac-12 Networks)
While there’s a matchup of Big East fringe bubble teams and a pair of Pac-12 squads meet up in Boulder, this group’s most interesting matchup will be in Norfolk. North Texas currently shares the C-USA lead with UTSA, while Old Dominion is one loss back—along with UAB, which lost to Middle Tennessee last night, and Marshall. But note the reason why the Monarchs have three league losses—they completely collapsed in San Antonio on Saturday, turning an 18-point lead into a 74-73 loss.
76-160 at 136-240
Group 3 for both the host and the visitor
No. 124 UC Irvine Anteaters (17-5, 5-1) at No. 147 UC Santa Barbara Gauchos (15-4, 4-1), 11 p.m. (ESPNU)
The Big West’s two one-loss teams meet at the Thunderdome.
161-353 at 136-240
Group 3 for the visitor only; Group 4 for the host
No. 289 St. Francis (Pa.) Red Flash (13-8, 5-3) at No. 232 Robert Morris Colonials (12-9, 7-1), 7 p.m. (NEC Front Row)
While St. Francis was the preseason NEC favorite, Robert Morris currently leads the conference’s other St. Francis (Brooklyn) by two games in the standings. The Red Flash sit a further game back, one of six 4-4 teams in the 10-team loop as the midway point approaches.
