College Hoops Viewing Guide For Friday, November 18, 2016

The first tournament title of the season will be handed out this evening at MSG.

NCAA Basketball: Charleston Classic-Charleston v Boise State Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

This list of games is not exhaustive by design. For a full schedule and more specific information about coverage—particularly for ACC RSN, ASN, CSN, and FSN games—visit Matt’s College Sports on TV Website.

If you’re only able to listen to tonight, check out TuneIn’s college basketball lineup.

All times are Eastern, adjust accordingly.

Tire Pros Invitational Semifinals (Primer)

ESPNU will air all four games.

Tulane
UNI
Semifinal #1
Northern Iowa Panthers (MVC) (2-0)
vs.
Oklahoma Sooners (Big 12) (2-0)
approx 7:30 p.m.
Oklahoma

Of the four semifinalists, Xavier had the most difficult quarterfinal, as the Musketeers needed overtime—and a poorly-timed Missouri foul—to survive the Tigers 83-82. This afternoon, the Musketeers will face a more talented squad with that nickname, as Clemson rolled past Davidson by a 95-78 score in the opener. In the evening session, Northern Iowa and Oklahoma will meet in the second semifinal, thanks to their 19-point wins over Arizona State (82-63) and Tulane (89-70), respectively.

Gildan Charleston Classic Semifinals (Primer)

UCF
Semifinal #2
UCF Knights (American) (2-0)
at
College of Charleston Cougars (SoCon) (3-0)
approx. 9:30 p.m. (ESPNU)
CofC

For months I’ve been saying that Villanova would roll to this championship. I might just be wrong though, as the Wildcats got far more than they bargained for in picking up a 76-65 triumph over Western Michigan . Villanova will take on Wake Forest, dominant 103-81 victors over UTEP. Host College of Charleston Cougars, 60-47 winners over Boise State , will meet UCF in the second semifinal. The Knights blew out Mississippi State 86-61 in the first game of the evening session, thanks in no small part to Tacko Fall’s 26-point, 12-rebound performance.

U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam Quarterfinals (Primer)

Loyola Chicago
Loyola (Chicago) Ramblers (MVC) (3-0)
vs.
Saint Joseph's Hawks (A 10) (2-0)
12:30 p.m. (streaming at FloHoops.com ($))
Saint Joes
ORU
Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (Summit) (1-1)
vs.
Ole Miss Rebels (SEC) (2-0)
approx. 3 p.m. (CBSSN)
Ole Miss
Montana
Montana Grizzlies (Big Sky) (0-2)
vs.
North Carolina State Wolfpack (ACC) (2-0)
6 p.m. (CBSSN)
NC State
Wazzu
Washington State Cougars (Pac-12) (2-0)
vs.
Creighton Bluejays (Big East) (2-0)
approx. 8:30 p.m. (streaming at FloHoops.com ($))
Creighton

Only the middle two games of this quadruple-header will appear on actual television, meaning tournament favorite Creighton’s showdown with Washington State will only be available online. If Sunday’s semifinal lineup doesn’t consist of Saint Joseph’s-Ole Miss and N.C State-Creighton matchups, I’ll be shocked.

2K Classic Benefitting Wounded Warrior Project Finals (Primer)

ESPN2 will air both games.

Pitt
Consolation
Pittsburgh Panthers (ACC) (2-1)
vs.
Marquette Golden Eagles (Big East) (2-1)
4:30 p.m.
Marquette
SMU
Championship
SMU Mustangs (American) (3-0)
vs.
Michigan Wolverines (Big Ten) (3-0)
approx. 7 p.m.
Michigan

SMU Mustangs pulled away late from Pittsburgh Panthers, while Michigan Wolverines put Marquette Golden Eagles away early in Thursday’s semifinals. As a result, we have an old Big East reunion in game one (the Golden Eagles won the last meeting back in 2013) and a rematch of recent a home-and-home series that the Mustangs swept.

Non-Tournament Action Of Note

Northeastern Huskies (2-0) at Boston University Terriers (0-1) (Steve Wright Classic), 6 p.m. (Patriot League Network)

The Huskies have a second win over the Terriers in the span of a week in their sights.

South Carolina State Bulldogs (1-1) at South Carolina Gamecocks (3-0) (Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational), 6:30 p.m. (SEC Network+)

The Gamecocks should have an easier time with the Bulldogs than they did with Monmouth on Tuesday night.

USC Trojans (2-0) at Texas A&M Aggies (2-0), 7 p.m. (SEC Network)

Two 2016 NCAA squads meet, though the Aggies are in a better position to return than the Trojans.

Georgia State Panthers (1-1) at Purdue Boilermakers (1-1) (Cancun Challenge), 7 p.m. (BTN)

The Panthers lost their first game in this event by an 83-65 score at Auburn on Monday night. This will be the Boilers’ final tuneup before heading to Mexico.

Monmouth Hawks (1-1) at Syracuse Orange (2-0) (Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational), 7 p.m. (ACC Network Extra)

After losing a heartbreaker in Columbia on Tuesday, the Hawks head to the Carrier Dome with revenge for last season’s NCAA snub on their minds.

Winthrop Eagles (2-0) at Florida State Seminoles (2-0) (NIT Season Tip-Off), 7 p.m. (ACC Network Extra)

The Big South favorites should provide a nice test for the Seminoles.

FGCU Eagles (1-1) at Baylor Bears (2-0) (Battle 4 Atlantis), 8 p.m. (FCS Central)

A few days after picking up a huge victory over Oregon, the Bears welcome the A-Sun favorites to Waco.

Siena Saints (1-1) at Kansas Jayhawks (1-1) (CBE Hall of Fame Classic), 8 p.m. (Jayhawk Sports Network/ESPN3)

The Jayhawks welcome one of the MAAC’s strongest squads to the Phog for their home opener.

North Florida Ospreys (1-2) at LSU Tigers (2-0), 8 p.m. (SEC Network+)

Last season, the Bayou Bengals won a 119-108 thriller over the Ospreys. I’m not sure UNF, blown out at Miami by a 94-56 score on Wednesday, has enough offense to get a similar result this season.

UT Arlington Mavericks (1-2) at Arkansas Razorbacks (2-0) (Golden Gopher Showcase), 8 p.m. (SEC Network+)

The Mavericks have lost at Minnesota and FGCU recently, so a trip to Bud Walton is not what they need at the moment.

St. John’s Red Storm (2-0) at Minnesota Golden Gophers (3-0) (Gavitt Tipoff Games), 9 p.m. (BTN)

The Big East can clinch a 5-3 win in the Gavitt series with a Red Storm road win.

New Mexico State Aggies (2-1) at New Mexico Lobos (2-0), 9 p.m. (ESPN3)

The pair begin their annual home-and-home at the Pit. The Lobos have won four in a row and eight of the last 10 in the series.

Oregon State Beavers (2-1) at Nevada Wolf Pack (1-1), 10 p.m. (ESPN3)

The Beavers lost at home to Lamar on Wednesday night, while Nevada last played on Monday, when they took out Loyola Marymount by 15.

North Carolina Tar Heels at Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors, 1 a.m. (OC Sports/live stream for the Mainland)

The Tar Heels will hope their pre-Maui game goes a bit more smoothly than UConn’s narrow win at LMU did.
