Maui Invitational Finals
Championship: Syracuse Orange (6-0) vs. Baylor Bears (6-0), approx. 10 p.m. ET (ESPN)
3rd/4th Place: California Golden Bears (5-1) vs. Dayton Flyers (5-1), approx. 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
5th/6th Place: Arkansas Razorbacks (4-1) vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs (5-1), approx. 5 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
7th/8th Place: Minnesota Golden Gophers (5-2) vs. Chaminade Silverswords (2-2), 2:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
The Orange will look to win the Maui title for the third time (1990, 1998), while the Bears have yet to even make the championship game. Scott Drew's team was able to rally past Dayton in Tuesday's second semifinal, but Baylor will be hard pressed to do the same against Syracuse, should it find itself in a similar situation. In the undercard matchups, the Flyers, Cal, Arkansas, and Gonzaga will all look to head back to the mainland with a pair of wins, but only two will be successful. I'm curious to see how Dayton responds to last night's defeat, particularly as they led for the overwhelming majority if the game and how Gonzaga copes with Arkansas' defense, which was fierce against Minnesota on Tuesday afternoon.
Cancun Challenge Finals
Riviera Division
Championship: West Virginia Mountaineers (5-1) vs. Wisconsin Badgers (7-0), approx. 9:30 p.m. ET (CBS SN)
Consolation: Old Dominion Monarchs (4-2) vs. Saint Louis Billikens (5-1), 7 p.m. ET (CBS SN)
In the semifinals, West Virginia blew by an overmatched ODU squad, while Wisconsin had to hold off Saint Louis, who attempted a late 2nd half rally. If the Badgers pick up their eighth win tonight, look for them to move even further up the polls on Monday.
Mayan Division
Championship: Bowling Green Falcons (2-3) vs. Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (3-3), approx. 4 p.m. ET (CBSSports.com ULive ($))
Consolation: Presbyterian Blue Hose (1-6) vs. Georgia Southern Eagles (2-4), 1:30 p.m. ET (CBSSports.com ULive($))
Gulf Coast Showcase Finals
Championship: Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (4-1) vs. St. Bonaventure Bonnies (5-1), approx. 8:30 p.m. ET (AmericaOne ($)
3rd/4th Place: UIC Flames (2-4) vs. Wagner Seahawks (4-3), 6 p.m. ET (AmericaOne ($)
5th/6th Place: San Diego Toreros (6-1) vs. Southern Illinois Salukis (2-4), approx. 2:30 p.m. ET (AmericaOne ($)
7th/8th Place: UNC Greensboro Spartans (3-3) vs. Stetson Hatters (0-7), 12 p.m. ET (AmericaOne ($)
As one of the hot picks for the Conference USA crown this season, the Bulldogs are a pretty heavy favorite going into tonight's championship game in Estero. However, St. Bonaventure is looking to add its name to what's become a long list of teams to pay attention to in the Atlantic 10.
NIT Season Tip-Off Semifinals
Drexel Dragons (3-1) vs. Arizona Wildcats (5-0), 7 p.m. ET (ESPNU)
Alabama Crimson Tide (3-1) vs. Duke Blue Devils (5-1), approx. 9:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
Barring an upset or two, it's highly likely Friday's championship game at Madison Square Garden will feature a pair of Top Six teams and star freshmen -- Arizona's Aaron Gordon and Duke's Jabari Parker.
Great Alaska Shootout Quarterfinals
Tulsa Golden Hurricane (0-4) vs. Indiana State Sycamores (3-1), 11:30 p.m. ET (CBS SN)
TCU Horned Frogs (2-2) at Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves (5-1), approx. 2 a.m. ET (CBS SN)
The Sycamores will be heavily favored to make it through their half of the draw, where Harvard (or Denver or Green Bay) will await. Trent Johnson's Horned Frogs, who have yet to find themselves in a blowout, but who also have a home loss to Longwood on their record, need to be wary of the host Seawolves. UAA is yet another D2 team in a D1 exempt event off to a hot start.
Non-Tournament Games Of Note
Eastern Michigan Eagles (5-0) at Kentucky Wildcats (5-1) (Keightley Classic), 4 p.m. ET (FSN*/ESPN3)
On Monday night, the Wildcats needed just about all 40 minutes to defeat Cleveland State. This afternoon, former Syracuse assistant Rob Murphy bring his undefeated Eagles to Rupp, and they'll be looking to finish the job.
Ball State Cardinals (2-2) at Utah Utes (5-0), 10 p.m. (Pac-12 Network)
Two of the late Rick Majerus' former teams meet in Salt Lake City, so remembrances of the legendary coach and broadcaster will surely be on the night's agenda.
