Tournament Fest 2012: Day 3 Schedule

While the 16 teams in Charleston and Puerto Rico take a day off, a champion will be crowned in Brooklyn.

On Friday night, Alabama claimed the first early season tournament crown of the 2012-13 campaign by hammering Villanova in the 2K Sports Classic Benefitting Wounded Warrior Project championship game in New York City. Tonight, just over the Brooklyn Bridge, trophy number two of the young season will be handed out.

On Friday, Florida State advanced to the final by hammering BYU, while St. Joseph's took out Notre Dame in an overtime thriller, which featured a rousing comeback and Hawks' guard Langston Galloway losing a tooth.

As usual, the Charleston Classic and Puerto Rico Tip-Off take Saturday off so the ESPN networks can air football. When action concludes on Sunday, the championship in Bayamon will see favorite N.C. State, victorious over UMass, face Oklahoma State, conquerors of Tennessee, while surprising Colorado, victors over Baylor, will take on Murray State, who came back to beat St. John's, in the decider in South Carolina

It would be the upset of the season if Ohio State didn't win this event, especially if you consider that Washington lost at home to Albany and Norfolk State took out Rhode Island in the on-campus rounds of this event.

The four teams in the winners' bracket get Saturday off, leaving the four quarterfinal losers to play for their spots in Monday's placement games today. Iona, a 2012 NCAA at-large team, is the only one of the four favorites from yesterday to fall into the consolation bracket.
