College Basketball On TV For January 20, 2011

I'm going to be honest with you, Thursday night's TV slate isn't the greatest. In fact, you can probably enjoy dinner out over the early part of the evening before returning for a key ACC bubble game and top of the table clash in the Pac-10 later in the night.

More after the jump.

Four Star

Virginia Tech Hokies at Maryland Terrapins, ESPN2 (9 p.m. ET)
The Hokies last won in College Park in 2008, a year where they swept the Terps, with both teams eventually ending up in the NIT. This time around, both sit firmly on the bubble, but Virginia Tech is in slightly better position because of a decent non-conference schedule and more advantageous early ACC slate. The Hokies' guards will provide a challenge to Maryland backcourt, but the big question is how Jeff Allen, Victor Davila, and their depleted front line will handle Jordan Williams.
KenPom.com prediction: Terrapins 68-62, 71 poss.

Arizona Wildcats at Washington Huskies, FSN (10:30 p.m. ET)
The winner of this one takes control of the Pac-10 race as the lone remaining one-loss team. Keep in mind the Wildcats haven't been at their best away from Tucson this year, getting smoked by BYU in Salt Lake City and losing at lowly Oregon State. The big question for them is whether they'll be able to get enough stops against the Huskies, one of the most offensively efficient teams out there.
KenPom.com prediction: Huskies 82-72, 72 poss.

Two Star

Florida Gators at Auburn Tigers, ESPN (7 p.m. ET)
This should be a one-star game, but given the Gators' inconsistency, they have to be on upset alert, even if the Tigers are a really bad team.
KenPom.com prediction: Gators 72-57, 63 poss.

Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles at Austin Peay Governors, ESPNU (7 p.m. ET)
The Governors look to rebound from their first OVC loss and stay ahead of the pack, which includes 4-3 Tennessee Tech.
KenPom.com prediction: Governors 84-68, 71 poss.

Indiana Hoosiers at Wisconsin Badgers, ESPN (9 p.m. ET)
The Hoosiers did well to grab their first Big Ten win at home against Michigan on Saturday, but winning in Madison is an entirely more dificult task.
KenPom.com prediction: Badgers 70-58, 59 poss.

Gonzaga Bulldogs at Santa Clara Broncos, ESPNU (9 p.m. ET)
The Bulldogs look to run their win streak to 10 against a Broncos team that lost at St. Mary's by 25 last time out.
KenPom.com prediction: Bulldogs 79-68, 71 poss.

One Star Drive-Bys

Several of these games meant something a few seasons ago, but tonight they're worth just a glance.

South Florida Bulls at Rutgers Scarlet Knights, ESPN2 (7 p.m. ET)

Sacred Heart Pioneers at Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers, MASN/CTSN/FCS Atlantic/ESPN3/Full Court (7 p.m. ET)

VMI Keydets at Liberty Flames, Flames Sports/ESPN3/Full Court (7 p.m. ET)

Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at South Alabama Jaguars, WKYU/FCS Central (8 p.m. ET)

Troy Trojans at Middle Tennessee St. Blue Raiders, ESPN3/Full Court (8 p.m. ET)

Utah Valley Wolverines at North Dakota Fighting Sioux, FSSN/Midcontinent/FCS Atlantic (9 p.m. ET)

For broadcast information for games slated to be aired regionally, like Binghamton at Albany, IUPUI at UMKC, and Portland at San Francisco, visit Matt Sarz's College Sports on TV site. Another good resource is the schedule page at BB State.

Please share your thoughts about today and tonight's action in the comments, after you sign up for a free SB Nation account, of course.
