His job is to help move the Tigers to a BCS conference. With 8 football members, adding a 9th would finally mean the Big East would have 8 conference games, evenly split home and away. With 16 basketball members, however, further growth would seem impossible.
Mountain West Tourneys Staying in Vegas (and Site Coming Attractions)

Mountain West Tourneys Staying in Vegas (and Site Coming Attractions)

According to this ESPN/AP piece, they will be in Las Vegas til at least 2013. There's been a lot of controversy over this in the conference over the past three years, but an early exit by the Rebels in this year's men's tournament seems to have quieted the complaints temporarily.

My real job has been unbelievably crazy over the past two weeks and a visit from a friend from New Orleans took up many of my recent evenings. I'll have Part 5 of my Tourney Reform Series out this weekend and a look at intrigue regarding the future of the Great West Conference and Summit League out not long after that.
