NCAA Regional Semifinal Thursday Open Thread

Tonight, half of this year's Regional Finals will be set, as action takes place out West in Salt Lake City and in the East in Syracuse.

The East Regional host institution will be in action clear across the country, as the top-seeded Orange look to get past No. 5 Butler in the first West semifinal. The winner of that one will meet the survivor of No. 2 Kansas State and No. 6 Xavier, who met back in December in Manhattan, a game that was an easy win for the Wildcats.

There will still be Central New York flavor at the Carrier Dome this evening, as 12th-seeded Cornell looks to continue their Cinderella run against top-seeded Kentucky. That game will be the nightcap, with No. 2 West Virginia's tilt with 11 seed Washington the first game on the twin bill.

Be sure to check out my full Thursday Regional Semifinal Preview that's up at SB Nation.
