Conference Tournament Go-Round: March 11

Two NCAA bids were handed out on Wednesday, and since two regular season conference champions lost on their home floors, the NIT gained two automatic bids as well.

Northeast: Robert Morris became the first team to beat Quinnipiac on their home court this year, and advanced to their second straight NCAA Tournament with a 52-50 win (recap).

Big Sky: Fourth-seeded Montana stunned Weber State on their home floor to win 66-65. Anthony Johnson had 42 of the Grizzlies 66 points. (recap)

No bids will be handed out on Thursday, but there will be a loaded schedule of games, as almost all of the major conferences' postseason events will be underway. I'll run through all of the action after the jump.

on your blog i predicted montana would beat weber state.

i’ll give you another in the wac. i’ll say utah state will play nevada in the finals. since the tournament is being held at the lawlor events center (nevada’s home court) i would expect maybe 5.5 to 6 points going to the wolfpack. i’ll take nevada and the points against usu. the point spread might be a little lower depending on what both teams do in the semi finals. i’ll only go as low as 4.5 points.

I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. I was building a house, I don't deserve this, deserves have nothing to do with it. Bang. "Unforgiven" I drink your milkshake. I drink it up! "There Will BE Blood"

Nevada should handle them easily

I fully expect to see Nevada to take the WAC. Home court is huge in these conference tournaments. I’m surprised they don’t make more of an effort to play these tournaments at neutral sites.

next year the wac tournament goes to vegas. that makes three confernece tournaments in las vegas.

the west coast conference started this year and now the wac next year. it will be an interesting game when unlv plays byu at the thomas and mack center (unlv home court) unlv minus one point. unlv did something smart last night. they rested their players when they knew that had the game in hand vs utah. i was counting on that and i covered the spread.
