Around SBN: Kobe Bryant Isn't Up To Speed On Jeremy Lin, 'Linning'

NCAA conference tournaments seem unneeded.

From watching the past NCAA tournaments I have frequently had the thought enter my head about the relevancy of the conference tournaments.  I understand that winning conference tournaments grants an automatic bid to the ncaa tournament.  But, I believe that the automatic bid should be given to the regular season champion and that the conference tournaments should be eliminated.  I also understand that these conference tournaments bring in money for the conferences, so they will most likely be here to stay until something else could possibly replace this profit.

Star-divide

One of the main reasons that I don't like these conference tournaments is that they seem like they are very physically and mentally draining on the teams that advance far into the conference tournament.  Then, when the ncaa tournament comes around, these teams and players can under perform.  Also, teams have different interest levels in the conference tournaments.  Some teams have to play at 100%, while some have already locked up ncaa tournament automatic bids and have less intensity.

So what do you do in the case in which a conference has teams tied with same record

and split the head to head matchup?

You wanna take away that chance for the rubber match to decide who is in and who is out?

Or would you rather do a coin toss?

coin toss!

if a 18-23 year old cant get rest in 4 1/2 days he probably does not need to play college sports!

I agree...

I did post similar to this a few days ago, and was in the minority.

no way

part of what makes the tournament fun is to see who can step up when some of the overplayed stars get tired…

it helps promote the coaches and full team contribution if one player cannot just fully dominate from start to finish
